We’re Sophie and Hetty – friends for over 20 years, brought together by a love of great food, good company, and the buzz of a busy kitchen.
Sophie studied Hotel and Hospitality Management in Cheltenham, kicked off her career at Le Petit Blanc, then travelled the world before helping launch a busy brasserie back in town.
Hetty started young – cooking in a care home kitchen at 13 – training under brilliant chefs before heading to Spain, where she ran a hotel. Then spending four sun-soaked years cooking on yachts in the Med.
Back in the UK, she juggled family life with co-founding Canapé to Cake (wedding catering), the buzzing food truck Boxfresh, and opening
The Larder restaurant in Cheltenham.
We met working in a lively local restaurant and haven’t stopped dreaming up food ideas together since. Now, we run The Old Bakery in beautiful Winchcombe – a place where all our passions have come together.
It’s warm, relaxed, and proudly locally sourced.
A proper Cotswolds spot for beautiful food, friendly faces, and four-legged VIPs - very important pups! 🐾
